Job Description

PCI seeks an experienced Fireproofing Senior Estimator based in Lakeland, FL for its PCI Tampa operations. This individual will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Performing quantitative takeoffs on Fireproofing construction projects.
  • Establish labor productivity for an estimate.
  • Maintain positive relationships with area vendors for competitive material and equipment pricing.
  • Solicit subcontractor pricing for work done outside of our self-perform group.
  • Understand the market conditions, including the competitive approach, backlog, level or risk of work, and other factors that affect margin percentages.
  • Be involved in the internal bid reviews with supervisors and the project team.
  • Participate in the customer alignment objectives of the branch by creating and maintaining positive customer relations.
  • Contract administration for secured projects.
  • Prepare wage and benefit schedules.
  • Assist in the hand-off of secured projects to the Operations Team.
  • Assist in other duties such as change order management or billings depending on the project(s).
Requirements

Basic Requirements

  • At least 5-7 years of experience in estimating fireproofing construction projects.
  • Experience with estimating/project management/managing specialty scopes of construction.
  • Strong ability to read, understand, and interpret specifications and drawings for PCI’s scopes of work.
  • Strong record of establishing and maintaining customer relationships.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • High level of attention to detail and cost analysis.
  • Ability to accurately read schedules for sequencing and durations of applicable scopes of work.
  • Proficiency with computer takeoff & estimating software such as On-Screen Takeoff and Quickbid.

Preferred Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Science or Construction Management.
  • Experience with working with union representatives is preferred.
  • Experience with interior construction scopes.
  • OSHA Certification.
