VCA Shoreline Veterinary Referral and Emergency Center in Shelton, Connecticut is seeking an experienced Client Care Specialist or Veterinary Technician to join the Neurology Department as the Neurology Liaison. We are currently looking for someone to work Monday- Thursday 8am-6pm. This position is currently temporary, but does have the possibility of becoming full time. We are looking for someone to work from now until October. Minimum of 1 year experience working in a veterinary practice required. If this describes you, we want you on our team In this position, you will work hand in hand with our Neurologist. Your responsibilities will include such things as: · Client communication: Client updates (in the waiting room and over the phone), calling owners with status updates/ lab results, going over discharge instructions, creating and going over treatment plans, follow up phone calls, etc · Record Keeping: Sending referral letters, scanning and/or faxing records, calling referral veterinarians for medical records, entering charges, etc · Filling prescriptions and going over prescription instructions with clients. · Submitting and running all laboratory tests · Managing scheduled appointments and patient drop off for procedures · Assisting doctor as needed to ensure a high level of care is given to clients through out their pets visit. Perhaps the greatest asset you will bring is your emotional intelligence. As you know, an Emergency/Specialty Hospital visit can be a stressful situation for everyone involved. At times, your ability to maintain a cool head and treat clients according to the Golden Rule will be tested.
