This position is eligible for Eskaton's health benefits package the first of the month following 60 days of employment and Paid Time Off benefits program after 90 days of employment.

Position Summary:The Life Enrichment Director overseas the delivery of social services and activities for the residents at the community. The position oversees the Village center, the Life Enrichment departments, the transportation of residents, the department budget, and day-to-day management of the departments.

The starting salary for this position ranges from $23.75 to $32.23/hour. Factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations may influence base pay offered.

Position Responsibilities include:
  • Coordinates resident services for the community, such as resident transfers, personal resident needs, orientation for new residents, resident assessments and healthcare documentation.
  • Liaison between residents and Eskaton Village Administration. Assists resident in locating health care, social and recreation options outside of Eskaton Village.
  • Addresses resident concerns as received from Resident Council and its subcommittees at all levels of care.
  • Provides in-service training related to new resident orientation, resident rights and resident confidentiality.
  • Discusses resident care plans and needs with resident families as necessary. Works in conjunction with AHEC to assure residents' medical and psychosocial needs are met.
  • Monitors routine scheduled activities to assure quality and resident satisfaction. Develops group and individual activities.
  • Facilitates the various resident Life Enrichment committees. Facilitates meeting room arrangements and schedules to avoid conflicting scheduling.
  • Maintains a master calendar of events. Arranges and organizes appropriate special events for the Village.
  • Acts as liaison between vendors and residents to insure satisfaction with contracted services.
  • Responsible for organizing, publishing and distributing newsletters.
  • Facilitates specialized resident and/or family groups to meet specific needs of residents/families.
  • Promotes events where Village residents interact in the community and with other organizations.

Qualifications

Education:Bachelor's Degree in social work or related field of study.

Training and Experience:Minimum of three years combined training and experience in nursing home or other related healthcare setting required.

Job Knowledge:Familiarity with medical terminology and health care needs of the elderly. Understanding of multiple levels of care and the ability to asses residents appropriately for the correct placement. Knowledge of state and federal health regulations.

The final candidate must successfully pass Eskaton's post offer, pre-employment testing which includes a criminal background check, drug test, COVID test, TB screen test and health screen. All new hires are required to sign an arbitration agreement as a condition of employment.
