What You Will Do
Ascension Sacred Heart is looking for a Board Certified/Board Eligible Hematology Oncologist in Destin, Florida.
This is a great opportunity for the right candidate to partner with Ascension Sacred Heart to provide medical services to patients.
Position Highlights:
- Join a well established clinic 12 years; new provider will assume practice of departing physician to serve a community need
- Live and work on the beautiful Gulf Coast
- Hospital census is usually around 3-5 patients
- Active Tumor Board
- Varian electronic EMR houses all chemotherapy regimens
- Boarded Breast Surgeon and microvascular breast reconstruction available in community
- Chemotherapy suite with chemotherapy certified nurses
- 797 Certified pharmacy with pharmacist and technicians
- Embedded pharmacist to manage specialty medications
- Social Worker
- Patient assistance program
- New patients per month average about 35 with a 50/50 split between Hematology and Oncology
- earning potential of $900k for a mature practice
- Evaluates and treats patients with appropriate medical diagnostic and treatment skills.
- Recommends, participates in, and works to ensure the success of efforts to improve cost effectiveness and quality of care provided to patients.
- Accepts patient referrals from other physicians. Acts as admitting, attending and/or consulting physician for patients who require hospitalization for primary medical diagnoses, depending on needs of patients, medical staff and hospital.
- Participates in academic programs (e.g. medical education and research) as requested.
- Provides appropriate documentation that meets insurance company requirements; appeal all denials in a timely manner.
- Participates in inpatient and outpatient consultation for specialty, which may include on call schedules.

What You Will Need
Licensure/Certification/Registration:
Required Credential(s):
• Licensed Physician MD/DO credentialed from the Florida Board of Medicine obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Board eligibility/certification in medical specialty required.
Preferred Credential(s):
• Advanced Life Support credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA).
Education:
• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) required.
