Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Physician, Nurse Practitioner, and/or Nurse Midwife: The Registered Nurse performs patient care services, assists providers with diagnostic procedures, patient procedures and performs laboratory tests in a medical office or clinic setting. In addition, the RN may be required to perform some front desk work, which may include telephone work, patient scheduling and ordering of supplies.
Education/ Experience Requirements:
• High School graduate or GED equivalent required
• Graduate of an accredited Nursing school required
• Current professional RN licensure by the State of Indiana required
• Minimum of 2 years of current clinical experience in order to acquire a thorough knowledge of scientific principles of nursing and professional nursing standards, and develop skill in nursing techniques and the ability to adapt to techniques to individual patient needs
• Demonstrates the knowledge and skill necessary to provide care for all age groups and their family members
• Registered Nurse must maintain current CPR certification
• Organizational skills with focus on tracking patient care and improving patient flow
• Ability to multi-task efficiently and effectively
• Must be able to act calmly and effectively in a busy or stressful situation
• Completes annual skill validation as well as safety and infection control procedures
• Excellent attitude, interpersonal skills, and communication abilities necessary to interact with patients, family members, physicians, and other hospital associates
