JOB SUMMARY

Under the general supervision of the Information Technology Manager, the IT Technical Specialist performs advanced IT activities for specialized, complex, or functional areas requiring expert knowledge and professional application of IT principles, practices and techniques in accordance with industry standards and CHN policy. Participates in the department's performance improvement and continuous quality improvement (CQI) activities. This role may be required to work outside of normal business hours.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Gathers business requirements and evaluates and recommends software, hardware, and network solutions, including A/V and phone system.

Performs hardware installations, repairs, maintenance, software installations and upgrades including occasional after-hours maintenance projects. Serves as an escalation point to diagnose complex technical problems.

Assess and audit technologies and establish plans of action for improving efficiencies, security, user experience, cost, etc. Always looking to improve the current technological state.

Takes ownership of tasks and follows through to ensure complete resolution.

Enjoys sharing information, supporting others, and working on a team to achieve team goals.

Troubleshoot, test and maintain network infrastructure including software and hardware devices.

Create, contribute to, and maintain documentation on IT systems and infrastructure.

Other duties as assigned to support the overall effectiveness of the department and organizational performance in accordance with Curry Health Network’s Mission, Vision and Shared Values.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education & Experience

  • A minimum of 5 years minimum supporting an enterprise IT infrastructure is required.
  • Technical school and/or IT certifications preferred; comparable experience will be considered.
  • Experience managing virtualized environments is required.
  • Backup and disaster recovery methods and software experience is required.
  • Experience with all aspects of a typical IT environment, including desktops, mobile devices, Audio Visual equipment and printers is required.
  • Experience with Microsoft technology portfolio, Windows Server, Active directory, and OS365 deployments is required.
  • Experience with WAN and LAN concepts, SD-WAN, Wireless and VOIP is required.
  • Experience with traffic management, mobile technologies, storage management, failover clustering, compliance, and server virtualization is required.
  • Remains at the forefront of emerging industry practices by engaging in ongoing education and research.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Ability to support, troubleshoot and build upon existing networks that are largely Windows based.
  • Must have excellent problem-solving skills; strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of and ability to adhere to the HIPAA Security Rule is required.
  • Must possess good interpersonal communication skills, an ability to work well both independently and as a team contributor and demonstrate an ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing using English.

Pay Range: $30.60-$55.27
