POSITION SUMMARY

The SAP Data Analyst plays a crucial role in supporting Barton Malow's Business Intelligence (BI) and data initiatives across the organization. This position collaborates with cross-functional teams, extracts meaningful insights from SAP data, and contributes to the success of our projects, The SAP Data Analyst has a passion for data, a solid understanding of SAP tables, and prior experience with modules such as Project Systems (PS), FI/CO, MM, and SD.

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES*:

  • Participate in data initiatives across the business by supporting and developing data models utilizing tools such as SAP Datasphere, SAP Analytics Cloud, SAP BTP, PowerBI, etc.
  • Transform raw data into actionable insights by cleansing, aggregating, and structuring it appropriately
  • Work closely with business owners, SAP Developers, and SAP Systems Analysts to gather requirements, document specifications, and create valuable deliverables
  • Utilize knowledge of SAP modules (PS, FI/CO, MM, SD) to analyze data specific to each area
  • Understand business processes related to the above modules and translate them into data requirements
  • Identify opportunities for process optimization and data-driven decision-making
  • Collaborate with SAP Developers and other SAP Systems Analysts to debug system issues and help deliver custom development and enhancements.
  • Conduct and coordinate unit, integration and user acceptance tests for new reports and any related SAP functional changes as needed. Develop test plans and test cases, stage test data, and document test results.
  • Provide support for Barton Malow's SAP systems including both standard and custom functionality, while coordinating efforts with the SAP Team.
  • Perform SAP configuration tasks, as required by new or changing business requirements.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems, or a related discipline.
  • 2+ years of experience working (or specialized educational program) as an analyst with SAP (or another ERP system) is required.
  • Experience with SAP Business Intelligence (Business Objects tools), SAP BTP, SAP Analytics Cloud, PowerBI, and/or other data visualization and analytic tools
  • Knowledge of SAP modules (Project Systems, FI/CO, MM, SD, ETM)
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
  • Proven experience planning, writing, and executing test plans.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Certification in SAP or related technologies is a plus
  • Construction industry knowledge is a plus.
  • SAP Security knowledge is a plus.
