The Position: 910 Media Group and JPK Management (Real Estate, other business ventures) are seeking a seasoned financial professional to join our Finance leadership team in beautiful Traverse City, Michigan. In this role you will drive the implementation, evolution and improvement of the key planning processes. This role will leverage various analytic and visualization techniques to support data-driven storytelling, looking forward to continuously raising the bar on our business insights capabilities and meet current and future needs of the business. This position will require the ability to thrive and succeed in a fast-paced environment, and not be hindered by ambiguity or competing priorities.

You will be responsible for developing & enabling end-to-end Finance strategies through transformational management capabilities (portfolio/program, change, value & strategy) and technology expertise (including Automation and AI). This role will serve the entire Finance function in the creation, refinement, tracking, and implementation of our long-term transformational roadmap and plan.

Responsibilities:
  • Co-develop and manage with the Finance leadership team the long-term transformation strategy and priorities for the Finance function, anchored to industry benchmarking and clear objectives; inclusive of translating functional needs into operational, integrated plans
  • Co-govern the overall Finance transformation roadmap and portfolio, inclusive of status, integration of project plans, dependencies, and impacts across all Finance and key non-Finance programs through a common framework; modify plans through capacity analysis and changes to timelines
  • Deliver Finance transformation portfolio through devoted project management and change management capabilities (including stakeholder impact assessments, overall change plans, and content & communications)
  • Help shape and influence the long-term strategy. Work with cross-functional leaders to understand departmental expenses, build multi-year business growth plans, build business cases and understand the ROI of proposed investments.
  • Deliver automation solutions for all Finance utilizing multiple platforms; co-develop and deliver AI strategy
  • Partner with functional and departmental leaders on team financials, cash analysis, and quarterly Board of Directors and Audit committee packages.
  • Maintain and enhance a cash flow projection process and reporting mechanism that includes minimum cash threshold to meet operating needs.
  • Be a partner in forecasting future operations cost and budgeting.
  • Support Finance/Accounting team with preparation and completion of annual Auditing as well as ad hoc items.
  • Provide insight and support for proposed mergers and acquisitions (M&A), debt and equity deals and other strategic transactions. Identify outcomes that would influence profitability.
Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 7 years' experience with 2-3 years of related, full-time work experience at the Director level within the media, technology, adtech or real estate industries is preferred. Will also consider a similar level from a PE/VC firm or a strong manager candidate looking to transition to the director level.
  • An MBA or similar advanced degree preferred.
  • Outstanding knowledge and understanding of GAAP, strong financial acumen, related analyses skills, including P&L and budgeting.
  • Demonstrated understanding of finance, business management, strategic planning, accounting, IT, and operations to elicit credibility with all levels of management and drive business decisions in a positive manner.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing and developing high-performing teams and leading and collaborating with senior colleagues.
  • Strategic thinker and demonstrated track-record of sound and objective judgment.
  • Seasoned and mature leader of people and processes; ability to inspire and motivate while developing meaningful relationships. Highly competitive.
  • Ability to proactively anticipate and address functional and organizational trends.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills including ability to present to the Board of Directors in a clear and concise style and be comfortable answering probing questions and making thoughtful suggestions.
  • Excellent computer skills and proficiency with database and spreadsheet applications.
