Job Description:
An affiliate of C.A.C. Industries, Green Asphalt, is currently seeking a full-time Laborer in Long Island City, Queens. Green Asphalt is a NYC-based 100% recycled asphalt manufacturer specializing in green infrastructure and development projects. The ideal candidate would have prior experience working at an asphalt plant. The compensation $20-30 per hour, depending on level of experience. Having a CDL Driver License is a plus.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with the production of asphalt materials.
- Perform manual labor tasks, including shoveling, raking, and sweeping, to maintain cleanliness and orderliness around the plant.
- Help load and unload raw materials and finished products using appropriate equipment, such as wheelbarrows, shovels, and forklifts.
- Monitor equipment and processes to identify any issues or malfunctions and report them to supervisors for prompt resolution.
- Follow safety protocols and procedures at all times to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Adhere to company policies and regulations regarding environmental protection and waste management.
- Previous experience working in a construction environment or asphalt plant is preferred.
- CDL License is a plus.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects safely.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
