The Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) for KVC Missouri provides compassionate care and supervision of children and youth. They provide support to help young people achieve their treatment goals through daily activities, teaching coping techniques and positive behavior skills. Our BHTs can expect to work closely with nurses and therapists in reinforcing treatment plans, documenting client activity and maintaining a safe environment.

Education for BHT: High school diploma or GED is required.

Licensure/Certification for BHT: Valid driver’s license and auto insurance.

Experience Requirements for BHT: A minimum of one to three months’ related experience and/or training.

Base Pay: Starts at $15 per hour, depending on education and experience, plus shift and weekend differentials.

Must be 21 years old to apply. Pre-employment drug screen, physical and background check required.

Physical Requirements: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, talk or hear, and taste or smell. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit for intermittent amounts of time. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
