Skills:

Master's degree in Business Administration. Minimum 5 years' experience as a Finance Business Partner including reporting, financial analysis, forecasting and performance monitoring.

Hard skills:
  • excellent corporate finance knowledge (financial analysis, PnL, cash flows and balance sheet);
  • very good knowledge of accounting processes,
  • advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel;
  • capacity to work with large sets of data;
  • project accounting knowledge is a plus;
  • experience using Anaplan platform is a plus.
Soft skills:
  • high level of analytical skills and attention to detail, with ability to maintain accuracy, but at the same time capacity to maintain a high-level understanding/view of the issues;
  • very good organizational skills: meet deadlines;
  • good communication, interpersonal and persuasive skills to deal effectively and appropriately with multiple stakeholders;
  • autonomy: work with minimum supervision, ability to work independently, capable of self-driven initiatives;
  • positive attitude to promoting change.
Knowledge and Experience:

Experience in developing, monitoring and reporting corporate profitability through the implementation of controlling processes:
  • developing: develop controlling capabilities for major variables in the P&L;
  • monitoring: assess costs impacts of any managerial decisions and/or business evolutions;
  • reporting: good quality feedbacks, monthly variance analysis with commentary and escalation of material deviations as appropriate (different level of analysis is important: attention to details and high-level interpretation).
Nb. must include understanding of the complete financial statements (PnL, balance sheet and cash flows statements).

Experience in forecasting (budgeting and business planning): major actor in the financial planning processes, incl. ensuring consistency across the different sets of forecasts.

Knowledge of accounting processes:
  • will closely work with the accounting department to ensure completeness and accuracy of financial transactions. Ensure that the data collection processes are strictly adhered to i.e. payroll, materials and external costs.
  • Key point of contact for compliance audits (as required)

Key Accountabilities:

As a finance analyst of its scope of responsibility, this role will develop and monitor a controlling system and report financial performance
  • develop a report outlining the financial performance in the scope of responsibility, separated by business area on appropriate financial analysis / monthly tracking of P&L
  • develop required controlling tools to be able to measure business performance
  • create appropriate metrics and report weekly/monthly, escalate main variations as appropriate
Develop appropriate forecasting tools (budgeting and business planning)
  • budgets, reforecasts and business planning
  • single point of contact with the business unit in the forecasting processes
Communicate financials across different stakeholders
  • share reporting and planning analysis with management and executive teams
  • make recommendations to improve financial management and performance
  • identify and report the business risks and opportunities

A major requirement of this role will be to provide the full expected financial support and analysis to the departments as well as advice regarding the best value for money options, triggering appropriate managerial decisions This includes risks and opportunities.

For this role, the required office attendance in Cobble Hill/Sommerville is at least 3 days per week.
