SALARY:

$102,727 to $130,000+ per year,the posted salary range represents the minimum to the midpoint within RVU’s compensation plan. RVU’s full compensation structure provides a minimum to a maximum range. The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to skill, knowledge, experience, education, and credentials.

Primary Purpose

The ideal candidate will possess a proficient background in nurse or physician anesthesiology, demonstrating a commitment to academic excellence, innovative teaching, and the enhancement of clinical competencies among nurse anesthesia students.

Essential Job Functions

  • Develop and deliver curriculum for nurse anesthesia courses following program objectives and accreditation standards.

  • Supervise and mentor nurse anesthesia students in both clinical and academic settings, ensuring high standards of care and learning.

  • Engage in scholarly activities, including but not limited to research, publications, and presentations in the field of nurse anesthesia.

  • Participate in program evaluation and continuous improvement efforts to meet and exceed accreditation standards.

  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals and academic staff to promote an interdisciplinary approach to anesthesia education.

  • Stay abreast of current trends, techniques, and advancements in nurse anesthesia practice and education.

  • Participate in the assessment or evaluation of and provide feedback to other members of the faculty as a portion of the college’s ongoing quality improvement and assessment program.

  • Attend DNAP Program faculty meetings, retreats, and accreditation-related events.

  • Responsible for helping the students select their topic and prepare doctoral work.

  • Attends a minimum of one state or national nurse anesthesia meetings yearly.

  • Participate in DNAP admissions interviewing process.

  • Perform other duties as assigned and supporting the mission of the program and the university.

  • Maintains an active clinical practice.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Doctorate in Nurse Anesthesia or a related field (e.g., anesthesiology) from an accredited institution and/or terminal degree from an accredited instituion in association with licensure as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthesiologist.

  • Active certification as a nurse anesthetist through the NBCRNA or as an anesthesiologist.

  • An active, unencumbered RN license in the state where the program is located or an MD license as an anesthesiologist.

  • Two (2)+ years clinical experience in a variety of settings, including academic medical centers, community hospitals, and surgical centers.

  • One (1)+ year(s) Proven experience teaching and supervising nurse anesthesia students in clinical and classroom environments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in curriculum development and academic leadership within a nurse anesthesia program.

  • Active involvement in professional organizations related to nurse anesthesia.

  • Record of scholarly contributions to the field of nurse anesthesia or anesthesiology.
