Assistant Corporate Controller

LaSalle Network is partnering with a 35-year-old Facility Services company. Their business has quadrupled over the past 9 years, and they are primed for continued growth. They are in search of an Assistant Corporate Controller.

The Assistant Corporate Controller will lead the Corporate Accounting team, overseeing its operational functions to ensure the achievement of financial and business goals within the organization. You will manage the Accounting team (excluding payroll operations) and play a key role in an ongoing ERP system implementation that is vital to our client's success.

Assistant Corporate Controller Responsibilities:

  • Proven ability to persuade others to support key initiatives, gain consensus on strategic projects and clearly communicate the need, vision and progress to stakeholders
  • Demonstrated leadership in assembling, guiding and motivating high-performing accounting teams with a focus on service and urgency. Address performance issues as needed
  • Proven ability to energize and inspire both the accounting and cross-functional teams by conveying a clear, passionate vision of objectives
  • Strong commitment to achieving business results with a focus on meeting deadlines and goals by supporting team members, allocating resources and developing innovative solutions
  • Oversee and manage all aspects of the corporate accounting department, including month-end close, cash management, fixed assets, intercompany transactions, general ledger and other accrual accounts
  • Maintain full ownership of the general ledger and prepare monthly working papers and necessary supporting documentation to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial information
  • Develop and enforce corporate accounting policies, procedures and internal controls to ensure compliance with US GAAP and applicable laws and regulations
  • Assist in coordinating with external auditors and ensure that all required documentation is complete and accurate for annual audits and quarterly reviews
  • Improve cross-functional processes and structures to enhance the accuracy, efficiency and timeliness of the monthly financial close process
  • Lead projects related to financial software implementation, talent development, process improvements and other special initiatives
  • Collaborate with cross-functional leaders to develop strategic initiatives that align with corporate goals, partner needs and internal priorities
  • Build strong stakeholder relationships and maintain open lines of communication across the organization
  • Mentor and develop finance team members into engaged, service-oriented and collaborative business partners

Assistant Corporate Controller Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree and CPA or equivalent accounting designation required
  • 10+ years of experience in accounting and management, preferably in a fast-growing, multi-state organization
  • Strong technical knowledge of GAAP, regulatory compliance, internal controls, process improvement and large-scale ERP systems/implementations. Familiarity with SOX is a plus
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and data visualization tools such as Tableau or Microsoft BI for financial reporting
