Description
Job Functions:
- Perform and interpret non-destructive evaluations/testing (NDT) inspections on aircraft components.
- Performs non-destructive evaluations of metallic parts using Fluorescent Penetrant inspection.
- Complete all records of inspection including rejection reports as applicable.
- Reads and interprets complicated blueprints and specifications, including customer and vendor specifications. Evaluates and documents results.
- Conduct tests to ensure quality or detect discontinuities (defects) using NDT methods of inspection
- Set up and calibrate nondestructive testing equipment.
- Performs daily checks of equipment used for non-destructive evaluations.
- Assists with selection and set-up of nondestructive equipment for nondestructive testing methods.
- Supports inspection of receiving, in-process and final inspection of parts, assemblies, accessories and materials for conformance to specifications.
- Apply testing criteria in accordance with applicable specifications or standards and evaluate results.
- Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit and Harlow Aerostructures.
Skills:
- Be proficient in understanding and interpreting approved technical data and Blueprints.
- Have analytical and problem solving skills.
- Ability to read technical drawings and specs.
- Be detailed oriented and able to multi-task high volumes of work in a fast paced environment without sacrificing quality.
- Have knowledge of the FAA regulations.
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
- Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
- Knowledge and experience with lean and continuous improvement philosophies and methodologies, preferred.
- NDT Level I Certification
- High School diploma or GED.
- NDT experience within an aerospace environment, preferred.
- Must be able to successfully complete pre-employment FAA drug screening test and subject to ongoing random drug and alcohol screening program
