Preferred Care at Home of Wyoming Valley is looking for a dedicated and compassionate Caregiver to provide support in our facilities. The ideal candidate will be professional, patient, caring, and flexible. They will be able to work autonomously and identify gaps in our care quality.

Responsibilities

  • Provide compassionate and respectful personal care assistance, including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and other activities of daily living (ADLs).
  • Assist clients with mobility and transfer needs, ensuring their safety and comfort.
  • Administer medications according to prescribed schedules and document relevant information if needed by the client.
  • Planned and prepared nutritious meals while accommodating dietary preferences and restrictions.
  • Engage clients in meaningful conversations and companionship, fostering emotional well-being.
  • Accompany clients to appointments, outings, and social activities, promoting social interaction.
  • Maintain a clean and organized living environment for clients, including light housekeeping duties.
  • Monitor and report any changes in the client's physical or mental health to the appropriate medical professionals or supervisors.
  • Provide support with exercises and mobility routines as outlined by healthcare professionals.
  • Collaborate with the care team to develop and adjust care plans to meet the client's evolving needs.
  • Uphold the highest confidentiality, professionalism, and ethics standards in all interactions.

Skills

  • Previous experience in care-giving, home healthcare, or related fields is preferred.
  • Compassionate and patient nature with a genuine desire to assist others.
  • Excellent communication skills and building rapport with clients and their families.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to adapt to varying client needs and schedules.
  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology and an understanding of health and safety protocols.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent and additional certifications in care-giving or personal care are a plus.
  • Reliable transportation to travel to clients' homes.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
