Description

Leidos is seeking a skilled Senior Systems Engineer with a TS/SCI clearance and polygraph to contribute to an exciting information technology (IT) contract. This role is pivotal in leading the engineering, delivery, sustainment, and evolution of the client's IT infrastructure, enabling critical mission support.

The ideal candidate will analyze both internal and external client needs to identify logical business enhancement opportunities that align with corporate Information Management principles, cost savings, and system architecture goals. This position includes facilitating group sessions, training, and knowledge transfer across the organization, as well as crafting executive-level communication materials such as briefings, written documents, and talking points. You will apply your technical expertise to enhance current service offerings and advance the client's mission by analyzing system requirements and assessing the feasibility of designs within established time, cost, and security parameters.

Key responsibilities will include ongoing maintenance and enhancement of existing systems, troubleshooting complex issues, and providing customer support for software application problems. As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, analysts, project managers, and other engineers, to foster continuous improvement.

The primary responsibilities will encompass:

  • Supporting and maintaining large-scale IT systems, understanding their dependencies, interoperability, and user needs.
  • Conducting cost-benefit and return-on-investment analyses to inform decision-making.
  • Communicating complex technical concepts and project details clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Collaborating effectively with contractors and staff at all levels to achieve project goals.
  • Providing group facilitation and training to enhance organizational knowledge sharing.
  • Creating and managing executive-level communication products, ensuring clarity and precision in documentation.
  • Utilizing technical skills to promote and enhance current service offerings.
  • Analyzing system requirements to evaluate design approaches within all given constraints.
  • Performing desktop hardware and software setup and configuration.
  • Providing project management support for new initiatives related to IT systems.
  • Troubleshooting network anomalies and coordinating with specialized support teams.
  • Serving as a liaison between site operations and technical business areas for IT issues and system upgrades.

Additionally, as part of your responsibilities, you will:

  • Assemble workstations following established protocols.
  • Manage hardware/software support needs as they arise.
  • Maintain user access control by creating and managing user accounts and resolving login issues.
  • Monitor server activities and deliver technical support using advanced principles.

Requirements:

  • Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.
  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 12 years of relevant experience, or at least 15 years of experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience with TCP/IP and related networking protocols.
  • Proficiency in Cisco router and switch configurations.
  • Experience with UPS systems and power supply solutions.
  • Familiarity with CAT5/CAT6 networking standards and hardware.
  • Knowledge of server infrastructure, networking equipment, and user hardware.
  • Proficiency in tools like JIRA, ServiceNow, Remedy, VISIO, and MS Office.

Working hours will be from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM PST, with potential requirements for after-hours or weekend support for critical operations.
