Job Duties/Scope Of Work JOB SUMMARY: Hanford Mission Integration Solutions (HMIS) is looking for an experienced Enterprise Architect for its Business Intelligence group that supports the Hanford Site, including the Department of Energy (DOE) and its contractors. The Enterprise Architect will be responsible for planning, building, maintaining, expanding, and implementing technical duties in support of HMIS's Data Enterprise Business Plan. This position consists of working with OHC's and SMEs to assess our current Data Management Structure and provide recommendations and paths forward on data architecture and integration for data consumption by Power BI, applications, and machine learning/AI solutions. This position is a mission critical player within the organization, supporting the One Hanford mission. The selected candidate will assist in overseeing work activities of employees and act in a lead role for the Business Intelligence group. This is accomplished via collaboration with the stakeholders across the site, HMIS IM team, and executive management. Essential job duties of this position include: • Architect, Design, and Build Analytics Solutions • Lead the design and architecture of the cloud-based BI and Analytics Lakehouse platform using Azure Databricks, DBT and other modern data warehousing technologies. • Create and maintain data models, ELT processes, and data pipelines to support enterprise reporting and analytics needs. • Establish best practices for data storage, processing, and accessibility within the Lakehouse. • Collaborate with data engineers to develop and maintain robust data pipelines, ensuring data quality, integrity, and timeliness. • Integrate data from various sources into the Lakehouse, including structured and unstructured data, and develop standardized and enriched data models to deliver analytical solutions. • Optimize performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency of cloud resources to ensure reliable and efficient data processing. • Collaborate with data analysts, data scientists, and other enterprise data professionals to advance the organization's data capabilities. • Provide technical guidance, support & mentoring for data-related projects across the organization. • Performance, Accessibility and Best Practices: • Implement and maintain data security protocols and ensure data privacy and compliance with policy & regulation. • Define access controls, encryption, and auditing for sensitive data. • Document architectural designs, data flows, and procedures for the Lakehouse. • Establish and enforce best practices for data management and governance. • Monitor and optimize the performance of the data architecture to meet the requirements of data analysts and data scientists. • Create access control mechanism to access collection data. • Implement standard interfaces, formats, and application processes. • Implement and document RESTful API structures that communicate across data management components to include user interface, data flow, data ingestion, monitoring and dissemination. • Troubleshoot and resolve platform-related issues promptly. • Other duties as assigned. Basic Qualifications • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in Computer Science, Analytics, Engineering or a related field - OR - an equivalent combination of education and/or experience. • 8 years of related experience in performing activities typical to Data Architecture, Data Engineering, and/or strong proficiency in data modeling, ETL pattern, and Data Warehousing concepts. • Must possess the ability to interface well with technical customers, business-oriented teaming partners, and infrastructure and integration teams to deliver value added solutions. • Strong presentation and communication skills. • Must be a team player. * Note: This position may require the selected candidate to work (telecommute) remotely, within a commu
