We are currently seeking a Staff Manufacturing Quality Engineer for Battery Module, this position manages quality and manufacturing aspects for powertrain manufacturing processes as well as for Incoming quality for powertrain material, it'd be key internal interface between manufacturing, engineering, and supplier quality to deliver world class quality products. You will be qualifying manufacturing HV Battery processes and will be translating the voice of the customer to process specifications and supporting or leading root cause investigations for quality issues as well.

You Will:
  • Lead Quality for Battery Module line in regards process controls, process quality, quality test EOL and interaction with battery pack and with other products
  • Lead quality investigations with cross functional teams (Engineering, Supplier Quality, Manufacturing) for HV Battery quality issues
  • Work with engineering team to characterize and develop critical process and criteria for critical characteristics to be able to have an objective system to evaluate them
  • Keep management and top management informed for KPIs
  • Ensure proper communication to executives when required depending on business priority
  • Support Quality Operating System implementation and execution within Powertrain area mainly focused on Battery Module line (Control Plan, PFMEA, Quality Procedures)
  • Evaluate & modify Control Plans and auditing strategies based on risk assessments and data from the factory and field
  • Constant work with cross functional teams to work on reducing and eliminate defects contained on the single agenda for quality
  • Manage and own all quality metrics reporting and publishing, as well as presenting data and improvement planning to the factory leadership
  • Maintain and manage Control Plans and auditing strategies based on risk assessments and data from the factory and field
  • Validate and characterize new inspection processes and equipment focused on improve quality system
  • Support creation of detailed manufacturing instructions to document quality critical characteristics
  • Support on designing production and inspection workstations for quality
  • Support strategy to align Manufacturing, Supplier Quality and Engineering to improve Process Manufacturing Quality
  • Focus on continuously improve factory detection capability
  • Create and implement departmental processes such as control and reaction plans to protect factory's quality & delivery
  • Close interaction with supply chain team & suppliers to align requirements and expectations. Goal is to develop supplier on achieving a solid quality output with a proactive mindset
  • Travel up to 25%, occasionally on short notice
You Bring:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering required
  • 8+ years of equivalent experience required in the automotive Industry required or experience with Battery manufacturing
  • Experience in powertrain manufacturing environment preferable in Battery Module
  • Demonstrated leadership ability to build outstanding teams and interface well with senior management
  • Knowledge of Continuous Improvement, Kaizen 5S, and Six Sigma process
  • Capability to implement and drive a quality operating system within the Quality Control department
  • Strong written and verbal skills as well as organizational and program management capabilities
