Code Compliance Official

Are you passionate about community development and public service? Our Code Compliance Official helps to lead enforcement efforts, particularly related to short-term vacation rental regulations. This role ensures compliance with building codes, ordinances, and city policies while maintaining strong relationships with the community.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage short-term rental applications, inspections, and compliance tracking.
• Conduct proactive neighborhood engagement and on-site code enforcement.
• Investigate and resolve complaints, issue citations, and recommend penalties when necessary.
• Maintain inspection records, enforce city codes, and support public education efforts.
• Collaborate with city staff, law enforcement, and the community on code compliance.

Qualifications:

• Required: High school diploma or GED, valid driver's license, and two years of college coursework with relevant experience in code enforcement, building inspection, or a related field. Must obtain Oregon Inspector Certification (OIC) within six months.
• Preferred: Degree in a related field and advanced public service experience.

Schedule:
Full-time, 40 hours per week, with some flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays based on city needs.
