The Sales Application and IT Support Technician is a vital part of the IT Team and is responsible for providing application support for the sales point software as well as IT technical hardware support for users' workstations. The sales point software system is used by in-person and online guests to purchase goods and services at locations including restaurants and bars, web stores (eStore), and retail, ticket, rental and reservation sales. Each sales point is comprised of hardware that includes, desktop devices, credit card terminals, printers, scanners, tablets and other peripherals. In this dual role, the technician works under the supervision of the Department Manager and the Applications and Network supervisors to assist with the maintenance, and installation of software and computer hardware to sustain a well-functioning and reliable network that provides for minimal interruptions to business operations. As a guest-focused organization, it is the responsibility of all resort employees to create a WOW experience for our guests.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Sales Software Application Support:

  1. Support resort Point of Sale (POS) software applications including, but not limited to, Intouch, AXESS, and Campground Reservations.
  2. Implement the design and layout of Gunstock's passes, tickets, and vouchers; test graphical and text layouts to finalize the product design.
  3. Assist with testing of software changes, upgrades, patches, and fixes; report testing results to supervisor.
  4. Assist with the execution of quality assurance testing of bug fixes and enhancements in new releases of applications prior to implementation. Document and report issues to vendors.
  5. Assist in the programming, configuration settings, and customization of Gunstock's POS system including the eStore; continuously work toward the enhancement of the product suite.
Hardware Support and Technical Support
  1. Install and update all operating system and software upgrades and patches as needed.
  2. Assist with the setup and installation of PCs, tablets, peripherals, POS systems, and other hardware; perform routine upgrades and PC maintenance, including testing of equipment to ensure it is in working order.
  3. Work directly with users to provide basic troubleshooting to resolve common issues; diagnose and resolve hardware, software, or connection issues in a timely and helpful manner; document and monitor problems to help identify trends. Troubleshoot unexpected behavior and resolves or escalate issues in a timely manner.

Qualifications:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Formal education or professional training is desired; and1-2 years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of Office 365, Windows OS and retail point of sale experience strongly preferred.

CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES None required; A+ or Fundamentals+ certification encouraged.

Scheduling:

The position is full-time, year-round. During peak operational periods Gunstock is open to the public 7 days/week with weekends being our busiest times. While we offer alternative flexible scheduling, this position does require weekend and holiday availability.
