Position Summary:
The IRONMAN Foundation creates positive, tangible change in race communities by engaging athletes and volunteers to participate in programs that demonstrate service through sport and commitment to community. Since 2003, over $55,000,000 has been provided through IRONMAN's charitable giveback programs to more than 10,000 local regional, national, and global nonprofit initiatives. Through these partnerships, IRONMAN, Rock 'n' Roll Running Series, and UTMB athletes are powerfully linked to the community and together we leave the IRONMAN legacy behind in our race communities long after race day.
The IRONMAN Foundation is seeking an enthusiastic, and creative Marketing and PR Coordinator to support the overall marketing and communications strategies for all IRONMAN Foundation programs.
This position will take a lead role in planning and executing all aspects of IRONMAN Foundation marketing plans. The ideal candidate for this role possesses strong organizational skills, creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. This role champions dynamic and creative individuals who can prioritize and work on multiple projects simultaneously.
Objectives of this Role:
- Assist in developing and implementing the company's brand strategy.
- Ensure that all marketing efforts serve immediate and long-term business goals by identifying and executing improvements for processes, content, and lead generation.
- Prepare marketing activity reports and metrics for program success.
- Compile market research, competitor analyses, campaign results, and consumer trends.
- Support the development and maintenance of internal tools, including social media planning and posting, email marketing schedule and practices, website host, and more.
- Build knowledge and education regularly through workshops, research, and seminars, and share best practices and local marketing tactics with team members.
- Play a leading role for the team in planning and execution of marketing plan details for all events, community outreach and fundraising campaigns.
- Support the IRONMAN Foundation Community Relations and Development teams in establishing and evaluating marketing strategy by setting objectives, organizing promotional materials, and updating calendars for all IRONMAN Foundation programs.
- Work closely with The IRONMAN Group's Marketing, Athlete Services, Creative Services, Brand and Digital teams in all aspects of the IRONMAN Foundation's marketing efforts.
- Manage the relationship and communication between IMF and IRONMAN's North America and Global marketing departments.
- Maintain knowledge of market research and trends to identify new marketing opportunities.
- Promoting IRONMAN Foundation brand awareness through marketing efforts.
- Responsible for creating and managing website content, social media posts, email campaigns and content, donor and athlete communications.
- Responsible for maintenance of marketing database.
- Coordinate the development of campaign assets and oversee the trafficking of them to internal and / or external resources for campaign execution.
- Take the lead in coordinating activity in markets to help build and foster community relationships within assigned event communities.
- Support in the execution of market events, as necessary.
- Conduct research of market trends, customer behavior, and competitor landscape.
- Communicate campaign objectives, timelines, and deliverables to the Foundation team, and provide instructions for usage and promotion.
- Maintain inventory of marketing materials, ensuring all are current and accurate, and coordinate the creation of new materials when necessary.
- Continually seek new sources of prospective customer data and provide recommendations to leadership.
- Work from the Tampa IRONMAN office a minimum of two-days a week, determined by management.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree
- 3-5 years marketing or public relations experience
- 3-5 years experience with/or exposure to digital marketing including social media, website management, and email marketing platforms; graphic design experience is a plus
- Excellent strategic and analytical thinking capability
- Strong attention to detail
- Superior time management and prioritization skills
- Ability to adapt and execute in a timely manner
- Possess a goal-oriented approach, with the desire and capability to track activities to business metrics and an overall plan. The successful candidate has a demonstrated desire to conceptualize, execute, and report on complex integrated marketing programs
- A passion for endurance sports and an active lifestyle is a plus
- Working knowledge of full Microsoft Suite, Adobe InDesign, and Photoshop
- Ability to travel 15-20% of the year
