Summary:
This RN is a certified expert in critical care nursing, and a proficient leader who provides episodic patient care, nursing consultation, and is the nursing leader during Emergency Responses across adult acute care units. The Critical Care Outreach RN is competent in multiple nursing specialties, providing care to diverse patient populations. This clinician is a resource for nursing staff in the recognition and management of decompensating and high acuity patients. A dynamic environment requires the Critical Care Outreach RN to make independent decisions and judgments that support high quality care. The Critical Care Outreach RN manages requests through autonomous triage, negotiation, and prioritization.

Required Job Qualifications:
• Current State of Illinois Registered Nurse licensure.
• Baccalaureate degree in nursing,
• 3 years of Progressive experience and/or in Critical Care Nursing and leadership experience• Pediatric Intensive Care Experience desired
• Consistent proficient performance at RN 2 position or equivalent experience.
• National Certification.
• ACLS
• Analytical ability.
• Communication skill is required in order to lead and teach.
• Interact effectively with others in difficult situations.

Preferred Job Qualifications:
• Master's Degree in nursing.

Physical Demands:
• Work requires the ability to walk throughout the Medical Center and to be standing or walking most of the designated shift.
• Work requires lifting or carrying objects 30 lbs. and lifting and positioning patients, with appropriate lift equipment
• The ability to check documents for errors, use a keyboard to enter and retrieve data, and closely examine specimen, images or reports is required.
• Work conditions include performing procedures where carelessness could result in injury or illness and contact with potentially infectious materials and/or strong chemical agents.
