Department Description:

Gateway Longview’s Residential Treatment Services supports male and female youth age 12-18 who struggle with behavioral, social, and emotional challenges. The goal of the program is to support youth in developing skills needed to reunify with their families or successfully integrate into the community.

Bachelor's Degree: $21.50 - $23.59 per hour

Master's Degree: $23.30 - $25.38 per hour

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:

  • Establish and maintain a supportive, therapeutic relationship with youth and their families or identified permanency resources ensuring diligent efforts toward the identified service plan.

  • Conduct intake process and ensure the youth and their family understand expectations of the program.

  • Facilitate ongoing communication and meetings with parents while their children are in the program.

  • Ensure accurate, timely and comprehensive recording of all components of the case record which includes completion of writing assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes in a timely fashion.

  • Assist children and families by making referrals and linkages to external resources when appropriate.

  • Assist with program design and facilitation, as well as scheduling, when needed.

  • Follow up with children and families after discharge to ensure continuity of care.

  • Represent Enhanced Respite Services in meetings and communications with both internal and external partners.

  • Assist with Quality Improvement Initiatives.

  • Attend court appearances and report on rulings and follow up court date to the agency and families as required

  • Other duties as assigned

SKILL, QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, ABILITY & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • BSW or similar degree required, Master's Degree preferred. 2 years experience providing therapy to children, adolescents and/or families preferred.

  • Flexibility to work evenings to provide crisis support as needed

  • Must have an active New York State driver’s license and active insurance for purposes of travel and community work

  • Ability to exercise discretion and judgement in decision making. Detail oriented; ability to function as a team player and possess a demonstrated passion for advancing the work of serving youth and their families.

  • Should be in possession of excellent documentation skills,

  • Ability to work independently and also be an enthusiastic team player.

  • Must demonstrate at all times high levels of professionalism and ethical behavior.
