Secretary (College of Health Sciences - Speech and Language Pathology)

Faulkner University is seeking a qualified individual to serve as Academic Secretary to the Department of Speech Language Pathology (SLP). The selected individual will perform routine clerical and administrative functions such as drafting correspondence, scheduling appointments, organizing and maintaining files; answer inquiries and obtain information for students, visitors, faculty and staff. Faulkner University is a Christian university affiliated with the churches of Christ.
This is a full-time (40 hours per week), 12-month position.
Summary of Duties:
- Serve as a liaison between the SLP Department and students, faculty, staff and other University offices
- Receive and refer telephone calls, visitors and electronic inquiries to the appropriate individual(s)
- Coordinate with contracted medical billing company for patient billing
- Maintain database of current students and graduates; filing system for department records; and files for clinic patients
- Record, archive and distribute the minutes from department meetings
- Maintain records of work, absences and annual leave of departmental personnel
- Supervise student workers
- Bachelor's degree preferred; minimum of High School diploma or GED required
- Minimum of 3 years of office/clerical experience required
- Healthcare office/clerical experience preferred
