Position Description

In addition to performing the responsibilities of a Photography Lab Assistant, the Photography Lab Manager creates the schedule for staffing the Photography Lab and Imaging Center in Bassis, coordinates and communicates with Photography Lab Assistants and the Photography Program Director, expedites upkeep, repair, and replacement of equipment as needed, makes purchases to keep lab stocked with supplies, mixes darkroom chemicals, and does whatever else is needed to keep the Photography Lab functioning well.

Responsibilities

Manage the Photography Lab and Imaging Center

1. Perform all responsibilities of a Photography Lab Assistant.
2. Create schedule for staffing the lab.
3. Communicate with the Photography Lab Assistants.
4. Communicate with the Photography Program Director.
5. Make purchases to keep the lab well stocked with supplies.
6. Expedite maintenance, repair, and replacement of equipment as needed.
7. Mix darkroom chemicals.
8. Take whatever actions are needed to keep the lab functioning well.

Qualifications

  • One year of experience as a Photography Lab Assistant.
  • Considerable experience with traditional and digital photographic techniques, familiarity with the Photography Lab, and a desire to work with and help others.
