Truveta was born in the Pacific Northwest, but we have employees who live across the country.  Our team enjoys the flexibility of a hybrid model and working from anywhere.  In person attendance is required for two weeks during the year for Truveta Planning Weeks.

For overall team productivity, we optimize meeting hours in the pacific time zone. We avoid scheduling recurring meetings that start after 3pm PT, however, ad hoc meetings occur between 8am-6pm Pacific time.

This Opportunity 

Patients, Doctors and medical researchers deserve to benefit from large scale technological innovations and digital intelligence that have driven progress in office productivity, entertainment and social networking. We are looking for software engineers excited by the opportunity to improve health care in far-reaching ways. 

In this position, you will be building critical systems that power the commerce experiences for our Health Systems and Life Science subscribers on the Truveta platform.  Working closely with our Partner, Sales, Marketing and Finance teams, you will build resilient, scalable, flexible, and auditable systems that drive clarity into cost drivers, identify opportunities for royalty generation, and drive the business forward as we evolve our commercial and community offerings. This opportunity requires a solid foundation in distributed systems and strong consistency models. 

We are seeking a Principal Software Engineer who: 

  • Has proven experience building reliable, secure and scalable software solutions using modern cloud-based paradigms  
  • Is a quick learner who knows how to iterate and evolve a distributed software solution while carefully balancing the needs of privacy, security and reliability against a changing product landscape  
  • Has knowledge and experience in using and designing distributed systems, data pipelines, and APIs  
  • Can guide workstreams, mentor and inspire junior developers and cultivate a positive work environment 
  • Will adhere to Truveta principles in support of ethical innovation 
  • Willingness to commit to ongoing training on key topics like privacy, ethics, and security   

Key Qualifications 

  • 10+ years of experience building production quality software in a team setting; experience working as part of distributed teams is a plus 
  • Experience building commerce systems and/or systems with strong compliance & auditing requirements 
  • Experience building cloud services or data programming languages like Java, Python, or C# 
  • Building and supporting Kubernetes-hosted services across multiple-tenants. 
  • 5+ years of experience working on modern cloud-native platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure); InfraOps or DevOps experience a plus
  • B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or related field
  • Prior work with Big Data technologies is a plus

  • The base pay for this position is $192,00 to $258,000. The pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target. Pay is based on several factors including location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Certain roles are eligible for additional compensation such as incentive pay and stock options.
