Responsibilities

Document and investigate incidents reported to the Compliance department via a variety of methods, report findings to management, and participate in the development of solutions. Conduct monitoring audits and investigations with respect to electronic health record access and HIPAA privacy- and security-related incidents. Follows-up and resolves any identified issues. Maintains associated documentation.
  • Run audit trails to determine appropriate access and modifications to charts
  • Perform monitoring as determined by management to support the goals of the compliance program
  • Assist in the coordination of responses to regulatory and/or external compliance audits
  • Serve as a resource for Duly providers, management, and staff on accurate and appropriate HIPAA standards, guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
Training and Education - Provide focused education and feedback based on the results of auditing and monitoring activities to affected associates.
  • Develop and presents training topics for Duly staff; may involve traveling to various locations
  • Prepares educational materials and presents information to associates
  • Attends department meetings and present on compliance program topics
  • Analyze and support the implementation of privacy laws, regulations, and best practices
Compliance - Assist with monitoring compliance regulatory requirements and participate operational activities related to compliance.
  • Assist with compliance research reports on specific topics related to healthcare compliance policies and new developments health care regulations
  • Assist in the coordination of responses to regulatory and/or external compliance and privacy audits.
  • Investigate assigned compliance incidents, report findings to management, and participate in the development of solutions
  • Participate in cross-functional workgroups and meetings to achieve overall corporate compliance objectives to ensure it meets regulatory requirements
Qualifications

Level of Education
  • Associate degree (Applied Science, Business Administration) or HCCA or AHIMA credentials
  • One or more certifications with the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) or Health Care Compliance Association (HCCA) preferred (i.e. RHIA, RHIT, CHDA, CHC, CHPS)
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSA)
  • Demonstrates commitment to the principles and ethics of the organization
  • Computer skills, including EHR principles and Microsoft Office suite of products
  • Good oral and written communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to educate and train others as needed
  • Ability to travel to Duly clinic sites
  • Ability to balance tasks and project priorities set by management
  • Ability to interpret and analyze data/documentation
  • Ability to work in a continuously changing environment, flexible
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
