Role Summary

The IT Operations Engineer at Servier Pharmaceuticals is pivotal in ensuring the smooth operation of our IT infrastructure and the delivery of high-quality support services. The IT Operations Engineer will be actively involved in roadmap development, project related work to deliver against this roadmap, and daily operations. Roadmap and project related work entails collecting feedback from stakeholders on current opportunities for improvement as well as future needs to scale the business and drive efficiencies. Daily operations will include general infrastructure support and working with the IT support desk on request/problem/incident management. Project-related work will involve ensuring smooth progress towards project goals. These activities include building and maintaining both infrastructure software and infrastructure hardware, as well as performing installations, modifications, and repairs on network, server, and storage components. Other daily activities include engaging with local and global IT teams to resolve issues, collaborating on projects, and improving delivery of services. Project related work will entail a wide variety of activities including hardware and software migrations, deployment of new services, as well as periodically performing basic programming and scripting as required.

Primary Responsibilities

  1. Technical Troubleshooting and Support
  • Act as an escalation point for complex technical issues in user support, networking, security, and DevOps.
  • Perform hands-on troubleshooting and resolution of technical problems.
  • Collaborate with IT support, DevOps, networking, and security teams to ensure smooth delivery of IT operations and support.
  • Contribute to day-to-day operations of the IT support desk.
  • Identify and implement improvements to IT operations processes.
  • Partner with managed service providers (MSPs) and local/global IT teams to ensure seamless and unified IT operations and support.
  1. System Administration
  • Maintain Active Directory/Intune and Group Policy.
  • Configure, maintain, and deploy hardware and software related to AV (audio video), UC (unified communication), CCTV/Access Control, Network, and Compute/Storage.
  • Maintain and utilize Intune for management of mobile devices.
  • Develop, build, and maintain system integrations using existing ITSM platform and vendor ITSM platform to optimize vendor support and operations.
  • Create RCA(s) (root cause analysis) as needed.
  1. Infrastructure Security
    • Apply security patches and updates to maintain the security posture of infrastructure and ensure compliance with local, global, and industry standards.
    • Ensure workstations, VMs, and Servers are secure with AV (antivirus) and security inspection software.
    • Perform security remediation in a timely manner as needed.
    • Configure, maintain, and deploy enterprise monitoring and logging.
  1. Other duties as required or directed by the Manager


Education and Required Skills
  • Must have 4+ years of hands-on IT operations experience.
  • Must have strong technical trouble shooting and analytical skills.
  • Must have experience working and collaborating with a global IT team.
  • Experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, or life sciences industries preferred.
  • Excellent organizational, research, and communication skills and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in writing and updating policies and procedures.
  • Experience with PowerShell scripting and automation tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a wide variety of people, with an emphasis on understanding and appreciating cultural differences.
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related field.
Travel and Location
  • Periodic travel to company meetings, sales events, and other relevant IT support opportunities- 15% (e.g. 4x per year).
  • In office presence required Boston office, hybrid role 3-4 days a week in office.
  • Occasional after hours and weekend work is required.
