Cloud Operations Engineer

We are seeking a highly motivated and self-driven Cloud Operations Engineer to join our team at IMP Consulting. As a Cloud Operations Engineer, you will be responsible for managing the Azure Cloud Environments that support our custom development projects.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Managing the day-to-day Dev and Prod Cloud/SaaS hosting environments from deployment, maintenance, and upgrades
  • Monitoring and auditing environments with automated monitoring and alerting tools
  • Creating and executing all necessary Disaster Recovery policies, procedures, and drills
  • Ensuring compliance with all security-related policies and procedures
  • Architecting, installing, and deploying Cloud/SaaS-based virtual servers, databases, and virtual network resources
  • Implementing networking and cybersecurity best practices
  • Release management and change control
  • Test planning with automated testing solutions such as Test Café or Selenium IDE
  • Troubleshooting software systems, optimizing performance, resolving problems, and providing follow-up on all issues and solutions
  • Configuring and managing all imports/exports out of environments

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Experience in at least one Cloud/SaaS hosting environment such as Azure (preferred) or Amazon Web Services (AWS)
  • Experience in testing and troubleshooting full-stack web applications
  • Familiarity with modern front-end build pipelines and tools such as Microsoft Azure DevOps
  • Experience in benchmarking and network optimization
  • Experience writing queries or stored procedures in SQL utilizing Microsoft SQL Server or other platform (MySQL, Oracle, etc.)
  • Excellent technical design, problem-solving, debugging, and communication skills
  • Solid written and oral communication skills

Location

The location for this role is Boston, MA, but remote candidates will be considered. Up to 20% travel may be required.
