Application Engineer Job Purpose: Support Operation in completing engineering projects by organizing and controlling project elements.

Application Engineer Job Duties:

  • Review project proposals and plans.
  • Review material orders from customers & contractors.
  • Determines project specifications by studying product design, customer requirements, and
  • performance standards; completing technical studies; preparing cost estimates.
  • Maintains project schedule by monitoring project progress; coordinating activities; resolving
  • problems.
  • Knowledge of ASTM, TAS and other roofing and cladding Testing methods and terminologies.
  • Knowledge of Building Codes such as IBC, ASCE, IECC, AISI, and other pertaining codes.
  • Provides customers engineering solutions as related to Local and Federal Codes, such as IBC, ASCE, TAS, etc
  • Completes Roof and Wall uplift design using ASCE and other pertaining codes.
  • Physically building test chambers with helpers and completing required system testing.
  • Able to read specifications and drawings and provide sound engineering recommendations for
  • cladding and roofing system.
  • Prepares project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends; recommending actions.
  • Reviews orders from customers for engineering soundness, completeness, and recommends
  • changes as required.
  • Provides pricing to customers for standard and non-standard products.
  • Reviews internal shopdrawings for accuracy and completeness. Coordinates with customer for
  • information as needed.
  • Maintains a safe and clean working environment by enforcing procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Maintains product and company reputation by complying with federal and state regulations.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Requirements Analysis, Design Skills, Project Management, Manufacturing Methods and Procedures, Process Improvement, Technical Understanding, Documentation Skills, Safety Management, Supervision, CAD, ASCE 7, IBC.
  • Must have a 4 year Engineering Degree with EIT (Civil, Structural or Mechanical), and 2-3
  • years of minimum related experience.
