Inspired Solutions and The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Gastroenterology Physician to provide specialized medical services at the Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System (CAVHS). The successful candidate will deliver high-quality gastroenterology care to the beneficiaries of the VA, ensuring the highest standards of patient care in accordance with the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) guidelines.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide comprehensive gastroenterology services including diagnosis, treatment, and management of gastrointestinal conditions.
- Perform endoscopic procedures such as colonoscopies, endoscopies, and other relevant diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
- Offer consultations and collaborate with other healthcare providers to develop and implement patient treatment plans.
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records for all patients in compliance with VA regulations.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives.
- Ensure timely presence and availability for scheduled clinical sessions and procedures.
- Adhere to all VA educational and mandatory training requirements.
- Regular Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM.
- On-Call Services: May be required, with availability for phone consultations and on-site presence as needed.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
- Must hold a current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in any U.S. State, Territory, Commonwealth, or the District of Columbia.
- Must be Board Certified/Board Eligible by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM).
- Must have current certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
- Must demonstrate technical proficiency in gastroenterology, including the ability to perform endoscopic procedures and provide comprehensive care.
- Must complete credentialing and privileging in accordance with VHA Directive 1100.20 and 1100.21. No services are to be provided prior to obtaining approval by the Facility Medical Executive Board and Medical Center Director.
- Must maintain required Continuing Medical Education (CME) and Certified Education Units (CEU) and provide documentation annually.
- Must complete all VA educational and mandatory course requirements including any additional training communicated by the VA.
