Education:
High School Graduate or Equivalent. Successful completion of surgical technician training courses in an academic or military setting.
Experience / Qualifications:
CST Certification
American Heart Association BLS Certification for Health Care Provider.
One year of experience as a Surgical Technician is required.
Position Summary:
- The Scrub Technician is a surgical team member performing scrub duties throughout the surgical procedure-the scrub tech works under the direction of the Registered Nurse. The scrub tech assists the RN in maintaining the surgeon's preferences for the surgical procedures assigned to the specialty.
- Remain current with all the new procedures and can assist other team members with instrumentation and equipment associated specifically with the specialty.
- The collaborative efforts of both the RN and Scrub tech is the key to patient care excellence and physician satisfaction. Performs other duties as assigned.
