We are currently seeking an experienced Freight Broker with a proven track record in building a book of business to join our team working in the hot North Carolina market This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in the growth of our freight brokerage operations and make a significant impact in the logistics industry.
Job Overview: As an Onsite Freight Broker, you will be responsible for managing the movement of freight, building relationships with clients, and growing your book of business. Your focus will be on generating new leads, cultivating long-term relationships with shippers, and increasing revenue streams. You will work in a fast-paced environment with a strong emphasis on customer service and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Business Development: Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand your book of business. Build and maintain relationships with shippers, freight carriers, and other partners.
- Freight Management: Coordinate the movement of freight, negotiate rates, and manage timelines to ensure on-time delivery and customer satisfaction.
- Client Relationship Management: Establish and maintain strong, lasting relationships with customers by providing exceptional service and support.
- Market Analysis: Stay up-to-date on industry trends, competitor activity, and market conditions to develop effective strategies for growing your portfolio.
- Collaboration: Work closely with our operations and logistics teams to ensure smooth execution of all shipments and a seamless experience for customers.
- Reporting and Metrics: Monitor your performance and regularly report on key business development metrics, including sales goals, customer retention, and revenue growth.
- Proven Experience as a Freight Broker with at least 5 years of experience in the logistics industry.
- Proven Success in Business Development: Demonstrated experience in building and managing a book of business, preferably in a freight brokerage environment.
- Strong understanding of freight market trends, pricing, and supply chain logistics.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels of an organization.
- A high level of self-motivation and the ability to work independently to meet goals and deadlines.
- Strong proficiency in freight management software, CRM systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
