MAJOR FUNCTION:

The Applications and Systems Support Analyst provides direct support of the front- and back-office enterprise banking systems, applications, and project management functions of the bank. Review, analyze, and evaluate business unit processes and provides recommendations for improved efficiencies and optimal utilization of banking systems and technology.

Perform activities that include applications and systems implementation, configuration, upgrades, maintenance, documentation, training, end-user support, and problem resolution. Work closely with business process owners and third-party vendors to ensure software, hardware, and other components are properly implemented, tested, and deployed.

Support the IT department in responding to helpdesk requests and other assigned projects and tasks. Provide assistance, as needed, with network and systems administration and support.

RESPONSIBILITES:

Applications and Systems Support Analyst:
  1. Provides superior service and applications, systems and project support while managing relationships with end users, business leaders, and vendors to ensure deliverables exceed expectations.
  2. Develop into a subject matter expert on various bank technology solutions for the support of business requirements.
  3. Examine existing software and systems to find ways to optimize operations and improve efficiency.
  4. Provides necessary training to bank personnel on operational and systems support topics.
  5. Perform ongoing reviews with departmental staff to explore process improvement opportunities.
  6. Identify and map current processes to consider for improvement; then design and test new processes incorporating banking systems and technology for greater efficiency.
  7. Utilize Cognos to generate reports that aide in data analysis and validation for Bank activities.
  8. Serve as a primary point of contact with select vendors and bank staff to evaluate, communicate, and coordinate testing and implementation of new and existing product releases, patches, enhancements, maintenance, training, and other such project requirements.
  9. Serve as a point of escalation during outages or periods of degraded software performance.
  10. Serve as the point of contact for business units in solving routine usability problems for select departmental applications and enterprise banking systems.
  11. Work with 3rd party service providers to investigate, troubleshoot, and remediate IT and banking system issues.
  12. Responsible for documenting procedures for deployment and utilization of products in a manner such that future deployments, redeployments and project implementations are repeatable with a high degree of success.
  13. Contributes technical knowledge and understanding of applications to training programs, supporting documentation, and operating procedures.
  14. Assist in preparation and testing of annual disaster recovery, business continuity planning and risk management.
  15. Staff is required to be flexible with their weekly hours due to workflow and other unique situations that may arise.
  16. Provide support and backup to other IT Department responsibilities and duties, including by not limited to help desk requests, network and systems administration support and other duties as assigned.
  17. Complete all initial and annual training requirements as outlined by ASBT.
  18. Perform all other duties as required, consistent with the goals, objectives and responsibilities of the Information Technology function.
Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. A bachelor's degree in business, computer information systems, management information systems, or associate's degree with equivalent industry experience in supporting a financial institution's operational environment is preferred.
  2. Minimum of one to two years of experience in banking operations providing daily support and maintenance activities is preferred.
  3. Working knowledge of the bank's vendor-specific systems and operational environment.
  4. Thorough understanding of the financial services industry is preferred.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
  1. Confidentiality and tactfulness in dealing with bank and customer information is mandatory.
  2. Ability to conduct relationships with co-workers, customers, the community and the overall public in a manner which will enhance the bank's image and comprehensive marketing effort.
  3. Will be called upon from time to time to participate with community organizations and projects.
  4. Responsible for compliance with all Federal regulations including Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), GLBA and Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) to name a few.
  5. Ability to remotely and locally diagnose system issues.
  6. Ability to multi-task, handling ongoing projects and support issues.
  7. Experience with enterprise-wide banking systems a plus.
  8. Experience with Microsoft 365 a plus.
  9. Experience with Microsoft Windows Server a plus.
  10. Experience in backup and restore systems (disaster recovery) a plus.
  11. Strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
  12. Ability to independently research and learn new technologies.
  13. Ability to work in a team environment and assist in project planning and implementation.
EXPERIENCE AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
  1. Excellent oral and written communication and project management skills.
  2. Proven ability to work effectively across all levels of the organization and develop positive working relationships.
  3. A positive attitude and aptitude for embracing change and applying technology solutions to solve business problems.
  4. A mindfulness and ability to work with others to earn their trust and acceptance of new technologies and change.
  5. One to three years of similar or related experience in supporting business applications and systems within a financial institution environment (experience with banking operations, IT, core, document imaging and other banking technologies.)
  6. Prefer experience with Jack Henry technologies, specifically CIF 20/20, Xperience, Synergy Enterprise Content Management, OnBoard Deposits, 20/20 Teller, Yellow Hammer Fraud Detective, LoanVantage.
  7. Able to provide project management support by working closely with upper management, and others, to make sure that the scope and direction of each project is completed on schedule and on task.
  8. Demonstrated conceptual thinking and analytical skills to effectively provide problem solving capabilities to operating problems.
  9. Must be highly organized and capable of handling multiple tasks concurrently, are able to redirect priorities based upon current workload (Able to respond quickly in a demanding environment).
  10. Microsoft client-based products (i.e. Microsoft Office, Project)
  11. Must be able to perform all functions independently with supervision, minimal or otherwise, in a reasonable amount of time.
  12. Stays current with emerging technology trends.
