Position Summary:

Milacron is looking for a Sr. Electromechanical R&D Engineer to join our team in Batavia, OH. As an R&D Engineer, you will be responsible for the identification, design, development, documentation, support, and maintenance of solutions for new technologies and sub-systems. You will possess a strong knowledge of mechanical systems, pulleys, transfer stands, and integration with electrical systems, motors, and actuators.

Work You'll Do:

  • Create concepts, review, and approve hardware for trials and technology demonstrations

  • Design, develop, and test sub-systems and functional test systems from initial concept to full scale development

  • Evaluate and implement current and future technologies and requirements in electromechanical systems, like solenoids, motors, drives, etc.

  • Analyze, evaluate, improve, or develop control mechanisms for specific applications or machine types, and document them.

  • Explore pre-gate technologies in other products and develop tools to rate technologies and integration

  • Adhere to stage-gate process

  • Ensure on-time delivery of hardware and software for sub-system trials within budget

  • Maintain a safe and hazard-free workspace and testing environment

Team:

The R&D Engineering Team consists of engineers working together to Shape What Matters For Tomorrow by partnering with customers to deliver plastic processing solutions for a wide range of applications.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher with a concentration in electrical, mechanical, or software engineering or related

  • 5-7+ years of experience working with research of electromechanical systems

  • Basic knowledge of NEC, CE, EMC Directives, and agile development methodology

  • Understanding of remote sensing and hardware requirements

  • Demonstrated experience using analytical software (Matlab, Motorpro, Maplesim , CREO, Ansys, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with an international team

  • Proven technical, analytical, creative, and innovative problem-solving results in a hybrid environment
