Machinify is the leading provider of AI-powered software products that transform healthcare claims and payment operations. Each year, the healthcare industry generates over $200B in claims mispayments, creating incredible waste, friction and frustration for all participants: patients, providers, and especially payers. Machinify's revolutionary AI-platform has enabled the company to develop and deploy, at light speed, industry-specific products that increase the speed and accuracy of claims processing by orders of magnitude.
Are you ready to apply your machine learning expertise to make a real impact? Join our team as a Data Scientist and build cutting-edge models for some of the nation's largest health plans to tackle claims errors-from simple mistakes to complex fraud. Billions of dollars are lost to such errors each year, yet fewer than 10% claims are ever audited. Our models are transforming this process, helping insurers pinpoint the right claims to audit, recover hundreds of millions in wasted medical spend, and streamline operational efficiency. We have already made great strides, outperforming human selection, but the journey is just beginning-and that's where you come in.
The Role: We're seeking a Data Scientist to push our models to new heights. You'll lead the charge on refining model accuracy and scalability, building frameworks and tools that empower our team and amplify impact across healthcare.
What You'll Do:
- Master Claim Audits: Dive into various clinical and coding audits, unpacking the data that drives audit decisions, and understanding past outcomes.
- Model Advancement: Curate labeled data, hypothesize new features, and develop ML models that target claims for audit with even greater precision.
- Optimize Impact: Measure model performance rigorously, translating outcomes into operational insights and recommendations for our clients.
- Tame Complexity: Work with vast, nuanced data pipelines derived from intricate business workflows-often unclean and undefined-to refine them for robust modeling.
- Drive Team Success: Enhance data pipelines, modeling infrastructure, and team tools to level up our capabilities and decision-making efficiency.
- Grow with Healthcare: Build expertise in healthcare data and make an impact on the industry. Engage with clients and internal experts to refine model insights, ensuring alignment with real business needs.
- Real-World Impact: Extensive experience solving business problems through ML models that drive tangible outcomes.
- Team-Driven Innovation: A track record of developing frameworks and tools that elevate team productivity.
- Strategic and Detail-Oriented: Able to map out high-level plans without missing the crucial details.
- Results-Obsessed: Proven skills in measuring and optimizing the business impact of ML models.
- Data Dexterity: Experienced in handling and transforming complex, unstructured data at scale.
- Production Ready: You write production-quality code, build resilient pipelines, and have a history of deploying models despite practical hurdles.
- Healthcare Enthusiasm: A deep curiosity for healthcare; prior experience with health plan data is a huge plus.
- Client-Focused Communicator: Proactive and comfortable sharing insights cross-functionally, with a knack for distilling complex data for impactful storytelling.
