Job Responsibilities:
- Prepare the Operating Room: Set up sterile instruments, equipment, and supplies.
- Assist with Patient Prep: Position and drape patients safely.
- Support Surgeons: Pass instruments, hold retractors, and maintain a clear view of the surgical field.
- Ensure Sterility: Maintain sterile technique throughout the procedure.
- Handle Instruments: Organize and manage surgical tools, including counting instruments and sponges.
- Assist with Anesthesia: Prepare and handle medications and equipment as needed.
- Manage Specimens: Handle and label specimens for pathology.
- Clean Up: Disinfect the operating room and instruments post-procedure.
- Document: Record procedure details, including instrument counts.
- Maintain Equipment: Check and report on the condition of surgical equipment.
- Collaborate with Team: Work with surgeons, nurses, and other professionals.
- Follow Protocols: Adhere to infection control and hospital policies.
- Assist Postoperatively: Help transfer patients to recovery and support postoperative care.
- Continuous Learning: Stay updated on surgical techniques and best practices.
- Licensure: Colorado Surgical Technologist license or the ability to obtain it before your start date (required).
- Certification: Basic Life Support certification (required).
- Experience: 4+ years of experience as a Surgical Technologist (strongly preferred).
