$2,500 Sign-On for eligible external hires who meet required qualifications and conditions for payment

Phlebotomist is responsible for clinical laboratory duties, including:

All Sites: Reception and Telephone duties & proficient operation laboratory equipment including HIS/LIS systems; specimen handling: receiving and processing; prep & shipping of lab specimens for at Reference Laboratories; specimen/patient registration; phlebotomy - collection of blood samples by venipuncture or capillary stick; therapeutic blood collection; swab collection of specific Micro samples (per competency); assignment to OP Lab locations; training new staff as assigned.

If assigned to a site where offered: Dispatch functions, EKG performance, collection of DOT and non-DOT drug screens, for cause drug screens (HR), and Breath Alcohol Testing (BAT); clinic relief fill-in

Communication Requirements: respectful and patient communications (written and verbal) with patients, clients, other lab staff, and caregivers from other departments.

Required Qualifications:

  • Completion of an approved phlebotomy or medical assistance program meeting requirements to be licenses as a MA-P or MA-C in WA State.

  • Washington Medical Assistant Phlebotomist Certification upon hire.

  • Six (6) months direct experience as a phlebotomist and/or completion of a Phlebotomy program.
