FAYS Case Manager-1 Full Time Temporary Position

Location: 1702 Hendricks Ave. Laredo, TX.

Founded in 1982 in Laredo, Texas, SCAN is a leading provider of social services and substance abuse treatment services in South Texas. SCAN offers a friendly and supportive working environment that encourages personal and professional growth.

Position Description:

The FAYS Case Manager will help coordinate services being received by participants from the counselor and family support specialists in a more collaborative and proactive manner. The case managers will serve as a liaison between the counselor, family support specialists, and the participants; advocate for participants to actively take part in FAYS Program services; help participants access basic needs support; and ensure that participants are able to successfully access other needed services and supports from a variety of community-based sources. Case Manager will be responsible for creating and maintaining an appropriate linkage system, and communication with various community agencies.

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree or equivalent preferred, but High School diploma will be considered.
  • Must be bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • Knowledge of local government and social service programs desired.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and an ability to make participants comfortable and trusting are critical.
  • Must be able to multi-task, be detail-oriented, be organized and have excellent verbal and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with computer and common office equipment.
  • Prior experience working in a health /behavioral-related field required.
  • Valid Texas Driver's License and good driving record.
