We are looking for a Director of National Accounts to be responsible for managing and directing all sales and marketing efforts to achieve revenue targets and expand our Pro Dealer customer base. They will drive revenue growth, develop marketing strategies, implement tools and programs, and provide excellent customer service to our valued clients. The Director of National Accounts will collaborate closely with the Pro Dealer sales team, marketing, and other key stakeholders to analyze sales performance metrics.

What will you do in this role?

  • Directs the activities of National Accounts at the corporate and regional level and monitoring the sales, gross margin, and performance.
  • Assists with operational issues for trade shows (input and staffing).
  • Works with Distribution Director to ensure sales territories are covered as efficiently and effectively as possible, recommending changes in territories and/or staff as necessary to accommodate changes in business conditions or other significant circumstances.
  • Develops targeted account lists and assists Directors and Territory Service Representatives (TSRs) in securing new business.
  • Develops and implements sales promotions and programs.
  • Facilitates information and market intelligence flow between the field, and Novo management.
  • Establishes a relationship with the management of the top Region National customers.
  • Responds to specific customer requests regarding matching competition relative to pricing using financial and customer information. Evaluates for profitability and customer standing.
  • Serves as the primary contact for field compliance, communication, support issues, adherence to established processes and procedures, etc.
  • Works with all departments of the company serving as the liaison to the field and vice versa, striving for efficient business flow through the company to meet customer needs as well as company goals.
  • Ensures the field representatives have clear and defined procedures for implementing and executing the established programs.
  • Evaluates and initiates requested changes to these procedures.
  • Reviews performance of direct reports and conducts timely performance evaluations, recommending wage adjustments as warranted. Gives guidance and offers support to direct reports as needed.
  • Participates in ProDealer management meetings and oversees the sales to Lumberyards.
  • Provides leadership and support to Territory Sales Representatives and Inside Sales Representatives helping them to attain their goals.
  • Monitors and approves outside sales force marketing expenses through company expense program and reports own expenses.
  • Works with the Regional Vice President of Pro Dealer to establish/update departmental policies and procedures for dealing with customers.
  • Offers advice and direction to team, providing technical information regarding products, involving purchasing personnel for their expertise, as necessary.
  • Presents themself as a professional representative of Novo in front of the customer, demonstrating high standards of conduct and leading by example.
  • Establishes key customer relationships, develops new business, and fervently seeks opportunities for business growth.
What are we looking for in a Director of National Accounts?
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing or related field from accredited four-year college or university.
  • Seven or more years of experience in sales management working within a manufacturing/distribution company
  • Demonstrated experience in Leadership with history of direction and development of subordinates.
  • Experienced in Performance Management with sales data collection and analysis.
  • Functional understanding of business principles and supply chain management.
  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
  • Strong oral presentation skills and ability to lead in presentation development.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
  • Capability to communicate efficiently with all levels of employees, management, customers, and vendors both verbally and in written form.
  • Capacity to multi-task with speed and accuracy while prioritizing tasks and ability to maintain excellent organizational skills.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid State-appropriate driver's license, unrestricted other than for vision correction, with a satisfactory driving record.
Above and Beyond Qualifications
  • Five years' experience in the building materials business and related product knowledge.
  • Training in construction and/or inventory analysis.
Travel Requirements
  • Regular local travel within assigned region with overnight travel required, up to 50% of the time.
