Position SummaryUnder the direct supervision of a pharmacist, The Pharmacy Compound Technician prepares and packages medication and supplies in preparation for shipment to patients. Performs record keeping functions. Assists in various inventory control processes. Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities:Compound Pharmacy Tech I Responsibilities% Time1. Selects, picks, packages, and labels medications and ancillary supplies per prescriptions, under the direct supervision of a Pharmacist in accordance with Coram CVS specialty guidelines and pharmacy laws.25%2. Exercise proper hands sanitization and hazardous medication handling procedures. Preparation and compounding of sterile products. Maintain the pharmacy clean room suite to USP 797 and USP 800 requirements. Maintaining the cleanroom suite including cleaning the ceilings, walls, equipment and all surfaces with approved disinfectants. Documentation of IV admixture and clean room suite sterility testing.40%3. Complete appropriate documentation for inventory management and storage, including labels, log sheets, and reports. Accurate counting of drugs utilizing a manual process as well as any automated counting devices. Responsible for preparing and/or restocking the pharmacy preparation rooms with medication and/or supplies as needed25%4. Participate in on-call rotation as indicated by staffing and business needs.10%Required QualificationsActive state Pharmacy Technician license requiredMinimum 1 year of related experienceDemonstrated written and verbal communication skillsPreferred QualificationsOne year of technician experienceKnowledge of:- Medical Terminology utilized in a pharmacy- Drug names and basic pharmacology knowledge- Basic understanding of Pharmacy lawSkills in:- Customer Service and experience in home health and/or the healthcare industryCertification:• National Pharmacy Technician Certification. Must obtain within one year of employmentEducation High School Diploma or General Equivalent Development (GED)Associates Degree (Pharmacy Technology AAS)Other Certification(s):Obtain National Pharmacy Technician Certification within 12 months (if required by state BOP regulations)Other License(s):Active State Pharmacy Technician License (if required by state BOP regulations Pay Range The typical pay range for this role is: $17.00 - $28.46 This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
