Job Description

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES

Employee will direct, perform and assist employees in construction, repair and maintenance of electric distribution and transmission lines, inspect, repair, maintain, rebuild, construct, and install the equipment and apparatus associated with utility work.

GENERAL DUTIES

The normal duties may include but are not limited to:

1. Employee will be knowledgeable of and follow all safety rules, procedures and practices.
2. Employee acting in conjunction with supervision or individually as directed by supervision will assist and/or direct the training of other employees in the correct operating procedures necessary to fully satisfy the classification duties of Line Working Foreman and all lower classifications within the subject line of progression or other duties with which the employee is familiar.
3. Employee will, when directed by supervision, report to assigned locations for the purpose of receiving training and will actively participate in the training activities.
4. Employee will exhibit an adequate competency level pertaining to activities delineated in the Duties and Qualifications sections of this job classification. Demonstrate such competency via performance of job duties and training and testing programs administered at intervals prescribed by Bowlin Group to assure correct classification of employees.
5. Employee will, during the normal performance of his duties, watch for and promptly report to supervision any damaged or defective equipment or conditions which may cause damage or injury.
6. Employee will perform duties oflower or higher classifications that are incidental to the job and are within his/her capabilities including those needed for the purpose of training in the requirements of the higher classifications.
7. Employee will keep all equipment, tools, materials and work areas in a clean and orderly condition.
8. Employee will report as directed to any facility for any shift where needed.
9. Employee will perform work in a responsible and cooperative manner to facilitate a positive working environment.
10. Employee will compile information and generate reports, forms and documents as required.
11. Employee will represent the Company to the community with attention to the highest standard of conduct, appearance and attitude.
12. Employee will report, to proper supervision, job progress and all problems, or other factors which affect the job, except recommendations for disciplinary action.

SPECIFIC DUTIES

Duties that may include, but are not limited to:

1. Employee will instruct other employees in safety practices and enforce safety rules.
2. Employee will perform all of the duties of a Line "A", if necessary.
3. Employee will direct the activities of and work with employees under their charge.
4. Employee will assign to employees those duties appropriate to their job classification.
5. Employee will interpret drawings and work orders.
6. Employee will drive trucks, including trailing poles and equipment trailers.
7. Employee will arrange for servicing of truck.
8. Employee will maintain an adequate supply of tools, equipment and material on trucks.
9. Employee will direct and assist troubleshooting, testing, and maintenance of equipment.
10. Employee will check or test completed work performed by the other employees and prepare or check prescribed records and reports.
11. Employee will perform and assist in investigating and correcting radio and television interference complaints.
12. Employee will operate regulators and load tap changes to adjust voltage level.
13. Employee will instruct other employees in safety practices and enforce safety rules.

GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS

1. Employee must meet all general qualifications of employment.
2. Employee must meet all qualifications as required by Federal State and Municipal regulations as applies to this position.
3. Employee must be able to speak, understand, read and write English, and be able to understand and carry out oral and written instructions.
4. Employee must be able to learn to use the tools and equipment required in the work.
5. Employee must be thoroughly familiar with the Company Safety Rules and willingly see that they are enforced.
6. Employee must have or be able to acquire a Commercial Drivers License (CDL).
7. Employee must be willing to work inside and outside under varying weather conditions.
8. Employee must be willing to report as directed to any facility for any shift where needed.
9. Employee must be in good health and be able to perform the physical requirements of the job, which include work at heights and heavy manual labor.
10. Employee must be willing and able to communicate through both verbal and written reports.
11. Employee must have demonstrated ability to carry through work assignments, and conduct himself/herself in a manner that encourages cooperation and satisfactory work from others assigned to work with him/her.
12. Employee must have demonstrated exceptional skill and knowledge in the work area and leadership as Linemen "A".
13. Employee must have demonstrated the reliability and leadership ability necessary to train subordinate employees, coordinate the work of subordinate employees and elicit the cooperation of fellow workers.

SPECIFIC QUALIFICATIONS

1. Employee must meet and be proficient in all of the qualifications of a Line Technician "A".
2. Employee must be able to read blue prints, drawings and sketches associated with the work.
3. Employee must understand all transformer connections, phasing and phase rotations.
4. Employee must thoroughly understand the use of all safety equipment, as well as all safety rules and regulations of the Company.
5. Employee must have a thorough knowledge of methods, practices, procedures and standards related to line work.
6. Employee must have a good knowledge of the distribution system and voltage of circuits.
7. Employee must understand all details of stringing wire with pullers and tensioners.
8. Employee must have a thorough knowledge of sagging wire with a sag watch.
9. Employee must be capable of directing the installation of all materials used in line Work on poles and towers.
10. Employee must have a minimum of twenty-four (24) months experience as a Lineman "A" in the most recent five (5) year period.

• Pay is competitive and depends on experience.
