Job Summary and QualificationsThe Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) plays a vital role in ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care within the unit. Working collaboratively with the management team, the CNC oversees nursing care delivery, serves as a resource for staff, and exemplifies our commitment to the organization's vision, mission, and values, all while contributing to improved patient experiences and clinical outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate smooth admission and discharge processes to enhance patient care and flow.
- Engage in ongoing patient care quality assessments in collaboration with the management team.
- Promote a culture of teamwork to drive better outcomes and service delivery.
- Advocate for a patient-first philosophy, taking part in service recovery when necessary.
- Implement nursing strategies to enhance engagement, including regular staff and patient rounding.
- Participate in the recruitment, selection, and training of new staff while providing ongoing development and performance evaluations.
- Oversee staff scheduling and management of labor in alignment with patient care needs and productivity standards.
- Assist in inventory management and ensure adequate supply and equipment availability.
About the Unit:
- 29-bed Medical Surgical unit
- Patient to Nurse ratio of 5-6:1, with Patient Care Technician support
- Care for diverse Medical/Surgical patients, including those with diabetes, chronic pain, wound care, and more
Qualifications Needed:
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (diploma, associate, or baccalaureate degree).
- Current Registered Nurse license in Texas required; Compact License holders must obtain Texas RN license within 90 days of hire.
- A minimum of 2 years of RN experience in an acute care setting is essential.
- At least 1 year of charge nurse and/or leadership experience is preferred.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
