Full-Time Direct Hire W2

Our client is looking for a Logistics Freight Manager to provide strategic direction and leadership in the shipping and coordination of goods with a focus on a defined customer base. This individual will be responsible for the overall performance of assigned accounts and act as the primary contact for the external customer and internal contact on behalf of the salesperson.

Day to Day:

  • Investigating and planning the most appropriate route for a shipment, considering the nature of goods, cost, required transit time, and security concerns.
  • Build and maintain long-term customer relationships, manage shipments (considering cost, speed, and security), ensure proper packaging, and provide real-time tracking with proactive delay communication.
  • Advise customers on market trends and solutions, foster partnerships internally and with external customers, recommend process improvements and collaborate with sales teams to boost sales volume.

Must have:

  • Truck brokerage, air freight, or freight forwarding experience
  • Project management experience on the transportation side
  • General knowledge of domestic transportation regulations, policies, and procedures
  • Compliance and Safety background
  • Experience in one of the following or similar: TAPA, CTPAT, FMCSA, Smartway, TSA, etc.

Plusses:

  • 3PL or Logistics experience
  • Experience with Cargowise
