Owns the quality initiatives on a new part, or New Product Introduction (NPI) product design to set the factory up for sustainable long-term ownership and success. Manages problems that requires independent problem solving and self-direction. Independently manages entire projects for a work area and executes/implements quality systems primarily on an NPI. Requires limited supervision and advanced knowledge of engineering/quality/product line. Very data driven and makes decisions based on the data. Based out of Appliance Park but supports other locations as we introduce additional models, increased complexity, and increased volume with the goal of reduced Cost of Quality metrics.

How You'll Create Possibilities

Home Laundry Operations Support (75-80%):

  • Primarily based in Louisville, KY at GE Appliances' Appliance Park, with periodic travel to support additional locations.
  • Work primarily on 1st shift with occasional weekend, 2nd, or 3rd shift support as needed.
  • Lead quality initiatives in collaboration with product design, manufacturing, and engineering teams to ensure high standards and smooth integration of new equipment and processes.
Travel and Remote Support (20-25%):
  • Expect approximately 25% travel to support remote sites and supplier equipment testing.
  • Enjoy full travel accommodations, including rental cars, gas, hotels, and meals, covered by GE Appliances.
New Product Introduction (NPI) Program Ownership (20%):
  • Drive new equipment qualification and become the area's process expert.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and internal teams to oversee equipment testing, planning, and approval processes.
  • Develop robust qualification plans for new equipment and ensure compliance with GE Appliances' specifications.
Quality Integration and Analysis:
  • Lead dimensional analysis meetings, ensuring product design meets manufacturing standards.
  • Implement traceability solutions and digital tracking to maintain quality consistency from raw materials to finished products.
  • Conduct PFMEA risk assessments and validate new part/process capabilities with cross-functional teams.
Technical Documentation and Process Leadership:
  • Create and maintain Quality Manufacturing System (QMS) documentation that meets ISO standards.
  • Lead job instruction development, torque studies, and other standard work documentation.
  • Ensure comprehensive execution of drive, strip, and torque studies on new joints to confirm compliance.
Support CIB Site Projects (20%):
  • Oversee new part/product launches at the CIB site, maintaining the same rigorous standards applied in NPI projects.
What You'll Bring to Our Team

Position Requirement
  • Experience in manufacturing plant environment.
  • Experience with manufacturing equipment and processes.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Engineering
  • Leadership and effective communication experience in the definition, design, implementation and troubleshooting of manufacturing processes.
  • Self-starter and influencer - metric driven and willing to work with cross-functional teams and hourly workforce.
  • Excellent project tracking and detailed planning skills required.
  • Computer literate and highly skilled in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and others.
  • Influencer and team player - drive quality metrics but willing to look at the bigger picture.
  • Good communicator - data driven, makes decisions based on the data. Speaks up in meetings along with leading meetings with a strong passion for world class quality.
  • Experience interpreting data to solve manufacturing problems.
  • Proactive to seeing a problem and eager to drive an innovative sustainable long-term solution without significant direction.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Already familiar with AP1, how they work, who to go to, the struggles, and the strengths
  • Experienced using, programming, and interpreting CMM/3D scanning/metrology systems.
  • Significant experience in implementing Lean process improvements in high volume manufacturing operations.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or higher certification proficient with Minitab
  • Experience in metrology / measurement systems, Polyworks.
  • Proficient with understanding both coordinate and geometric GD&T drawings
