Foreman | Fabrication

Location: 417 S. 42nd St. Kansas City, KS. 66106

Department: Design Service Group (DSG)

Reports to: Fabrication Supervisor

Position Summary:

DSG, Design Service Group, is searching for an individual who has supervisory experience in the fabrication of various types of production. This person will be responsible for production management including but not limited to:

Essential Functions:
  • Monitor all department production schedules to assure timely completion of work.
  • Monitor finished projects to assure established quality control standards are met.
  • Assign, train, and evaluate department personnel according to company policies and procedures.
  • Supervises, trains, instructs, and assists others in the completion of duties.
  • Assure the team receive, understand, and follow shop production.
  • Assemble department displays, decor, and fixtures.
  • Be aware of and assure that all department personnel follow all safety procedures at all times.
  • Establish and maintain personal & personnel workload priorities to meet department deadlines.
  • Keeping morale up among workers.
  • Assist or perform other Design Service Group tasks directed by Supervisor.
Qualifications

Any combination of education, training and experience providing the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:

Experience:
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent working knowledge of production woodworking applications, techniques, and all aspects of shop tools.
  • Excellent knowledge of plastic materials and their properties.
  • Must have 3-5 years of experience in the sign industry.
  • Must be able to read and understand shop drawings, blue print measurements, and instruct others in the use of those documents.
  • Previous experience being a supervisor.
Education & Training:
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Five or more years of sign fabrication or related experience.
  • Highly proficient in all aspects of production plastics, including plastic laminates, metal laminates, and assemble.
Working Environment:
  • Indoors and outdoors, must be able to tolerate conditions which include loud noises, dust, mechanical, electrical & safety hazards.
  • Ability to flex hours with the possibility of overtime is a must with possible shift rotation & split-shifts.
Licensing/Certifications:
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Forklift certification or ability to obtain a forklift certification.
