Job Summary:
The Welding Foreman is responsible for directing and managing all facets of production, and quality in their respective area of responsibility. They will develop processes that will maximize stewardship, safety, quality, and productivity.

 


Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Maintain safety and environmental health within the shop facility;
  • Demonstrates clear leadership and development of subordinate employees;
  • Ensures all equipment is in good/safe operating condition;
  • Schedule and supervise welding personnel daily activities;
  • Provide technical training to shop employees.
  • Leading employees in safety, productivity, efficiency, process improvement and quality;
  • Ensure welding procedures are known and followed.
  • Ensure high quality fabrication on all projects.
  • Supervise employees by providing training, safe working conditions, necessary tools, and equipment to meet customer requirements within budget;
  • Fosters continuous improvement and continuous improvement culture;
  • Achieve fabrication excellence by establishing and communicating goals, coaching, evaluating performance and developing people;
  • Provide support and direction for good housekeeping, quality, and safety standards




Required Skills & Abilities:

  • Must have own reliable transportation and a clean driving record;
  • Must have experience in giving various types of Welding Tests;
  • Must be able to lead and advise a crew;
  • Must be able to read blueprints;
  • Must have own tools;
  • Must have fabricating experience;
  • Must have experience in time keeping. 

 

Education & Experience:

Basic

  • 3 years of Supervisory Experience. 

 

Education & Experience:

Preferred

  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering or construction management. .
  • 10+ years of experience. 

 

Physical Requirements

The physical demands and work environment described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job (but are not limited to). The employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, or crouch for extended periods of time, unassisted. The incumbent must wear a respirator when required. Manual and finger dexterity and hand-eye coordination sufficient to operate industrial machinery are required. This job also requires a full range of body motion to include handling and lifting. The incumbent must repeatedly lift and/or move up to 65 (SIXTY-FIVE) pounds unassisted. Visual acuity, hearing, speaking, reading, and writing must be adequate to perform all required tasks safely.

 

Work Environment

The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Work is usually done outdoors and sometimes at a client facility or job site and is frequently performed in inclement and/or extreme weather conditions. The incumbent is exposed to moving electricity, mechanical parts, vehicles, equipment, and hazardous materials. This position regularly requires long work hours and frequent weekend work.
