Job Description:

  • This position is responsible for the assembly of low and medium voltage electrical switchgear cabinets for the manufacture of products.

  • Assemblers will be responsible for taking a blueprint or work order, gathering appropriate materials and hardware, using hand and power tools to follow the work instructions and perform a basic inspection to ensure the product is manufactured with quality.

  • Interpret assembly and elevation drawings

  • Construct modular steel cabinets and copper buss assemblies

  • Read tape measure

  • Experience using manual hand tools (wrench, screwdriver, pliers)

  • Experience with power tools (drill, impact, pneumatic torque wrench)

Must haves:

  • Reliable transportation – not accessible by bus line

  • At least 2 years’ experience as a Mechanical Assembler, Machine Builder or even Automotive Mechanic working in a more job shop environment and not on an assembly line

  • Must have knowledge of electrical symbols and schematics

  • Must be able to use shop equipment and hand tools

  • Perform basic math functions including an understanding of fractions and decimals

  • Must be comfortable standing throughout the shift

  • Must be able to read, write and converse fluently in English with the level of competency that will permit the applicant to function in the position

Shifts:

1st Shift – 6am to 2:30pm

2nd Shift – 2pm to 10:30pm
