Team JAS is seeking a highly detail-oriented Quality Inspector (Level II) with a passion for precision and excellence to join our team in Jacksonville, FL. This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at 8493 Baymeadows Way, Jacksonville, FL.

Our 33,000-square-foot facility is in Jacksonville, Florida, and houses our inventory, shipping & receiving department, our 145-component repair station, and our PMA/engineering department.

What You Will Do: 
The Quality Inspector Level II is responsible for performing a variety of tasks to ensure the overall quality of products ordered, received, manufactured, stored, packaged, and sold. The QI will perform all tasks as defined in specific inspection plans in a timely and efficient manner to ensure all products sourced and delivered are built-to-type design data. When required will support the Quality Engineer in other quality activities as directed.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Perform inspection duties utilizing engineering drawings, purchase orders, inspection travelers, work instructions, technical specifications, QA procedures and instructions, and other related documents.
  • Conducts sampling inspections per approved plans and procedures.
  • Perform conformity/first article inspections to ensure compliance with FAA-approved procedures.
  • Perform preliminary and progressive inspections of components and systems as needed, verify functional operation, and final inspections.
  • Ensure the proper use and storage of inspection tools, measuring, and test equipment.
  • Conducts tests, and inspections, based on specifications for design as required.
  • Provides training and tutoring to other inspection personnel.
  • Perform uninterrupted flow of acceptable materials to support manufacturing and customer on-time delivery.
  • Validate suppliers are current with audit certification and on the approved supplier list.
  • Participates in root-cause analysis as needed.
  • Conducts follow-up audits to review the effectiveness of implemented corrective actions.
  • Collects and uses statistical data for the monitoring and evaluation of trends.
  • Participates in design reviews to ensure the inclusion of quality requirements.
  • Provides activity and status reports to management.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Three to five years of quality inspection experience and aerospace manufacturing experience.
  • Two years of manufacturing experience or equivalent aerospace experience is preferred.
  • Can complete tasks on time with little direction.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to discuss technical issues with suppliers.
