Outside Sales Engineer - Power Distribution Equipment

ROLE SUMMARY:
As an Outside Sales Engineer, you will spearhead the sales of our client's power distribution products, including MV/LV Switchgear, Switchboards, and Panelboards. Your responsibilities will include cultivating and maintaining relationships with medium to large Electrical Contractor accounts, and establishing and enhancing sales with key end-user accounts.

TERRITORY:
This position covers the Kansas and Missouri regions with a remote office base. The ideal candidate will be well-acquainted with the local electrical equipment market and have established relationships with contractors, end-users, or electrical distributors in the area.

DESIRED REQUIREMENTS:
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • 5 to 10 years of experience in selling power distribution equipment, particularly MV/LV switchgear and switchboards. Experience in the Data Center market is a plus.
  • Proven ability to negotiate and close deals on medium and large projects, develop new contacts, maintain existing relationships throughout the sales cycle, and maximize client potential.
  • Experience in generating detailed project proposals that include MV/LV switchgear and other products to deliver comprehensive bid packages.
  • Self-motivated, professional, with superior communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Collaborate with the Sales Director to develop and execute a detailed account plan that is both agreed upon and supported.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with all decision-makers and influencers within the account who affect current and future business.
  • Thoroughly understand and articulate the client's buying process and challenges.
  • Proactively identify and capitalize on revenue opportunities within specified accounts.
  • Develop proposals that meet or exceed client requirements using personal and internal resources.
  • Ensure alignment with the client's buying process to effectively respond and provide proposals.
  • Manage the transition of projects to the Platform Execution team and maintain oversight to ensure customer success and satisfaction.
  • Possess deep knowledge of the client's business, commercial landscape, structure, strategy, and operations to identify opportunities, growth, and risks.
  • Maintain expertise in our client's products, services, business structure, and strategy to highlight their value to the client's business.
  • Provide essential guidance and insights to all internal stakeholders and functional departments to enable them to execute their roles and add value to the client.
  • Manage forecasting and provide necessary information to the Sales Director for capacity planning.
